Building a Space Where Movement Matters!

Learn more about Minnesota Flyers Gymnastics & Fitness at www.mnflyersgym.org!

Physical activity is more important now than it has ever been! We believe a “healthy lifestyle” does not just mean a balanced diet. Regular physical activity, sleep routines, and working on mental health are also vital.

There are many physical and mental benefits to active children, teenagers, and adults. Aside from cardiovascular health and healthy weight, exercise strengthens bones, joints, and muscles! According to the World Health Organization, physical activity promotes the development of social skills among youth, including self-confidence, social interactions, and integration. It can also help with feelings of anxiety and depression.

Growing Over the Years

Each week approximately 800 athletes come through our doors for programs and events. Since the Spring of 2019, our recreational classes have grown by 40 percent, with many students on waitlists because classes are full. We were unable to serve over 200 children each year due to lack of space for more classes. The need for a larger facility was clear, so in the Spring of 2023, the Movement Matters Capital Campaign was launched to double the size of the current facility.

Through the generous support of the community, Minnesota Flyers Gymnastics & Fitness broke ground in May 2025. By the Spring of 2026, the second gym had been completed and the recreational program was able to begin classes in the new space. This was the first time since MFGF began that recreational programs and the competitive program had dedicated gym space. The entire construction project was complete by August 2026.

The expansion now provides the following:

  • Increase in space for more classes, more staff, and more specialized equipment
  • Our fall enrollment has increased 12% since last fall and the wait list has been cut in half
  • New competitive team opportunity through the USA Gymnastics XCEL program
  • Expanded Ninja area with a 3 new warp walls
  • Sensory-friendly room and a dedicated area in the recreational gym for FlyTime athletes
  • Dedicated party room for birthday parties and events
  • Larger lobby area, with more cubbies for athletes
  • Bleachers and special viewing area for parents and visitors
  • Ability to host high school gymnastics meets without disrupting recreational classes
  • OT/PT rooms
